Tensiometers
Static or running rope
SENSY has developed a complete range of tensiometers. These force sensors are intended to measure the tension force applied to a wire rope or rope fibre without having to disassemble it. There are two types:
- Static line tensiometers intended to be mounted on fixed cables.
In order to choose the required tensiometer, you must know the tension force and diameter of the cable. - Running-line tensiometers to be mounted on running cables or running ropes.
The force measurement can then be supplemented by a measurement of the winding speed and displacement (pay-out). This type of sensor is also available with a removable center sheave to facilitate (dis)mounting.
A minimum of three parameters must be known in order to define the type of sensor you need: the force, the cable diameter, and the winding speed.
In addition, SENSY offers electronics that simultaneously display tension force, speed and displacement.
SENSY also offers a complete range of tension and compression (annular) load cells, such as load-measuring wedge sockets or load shackles to measure the tension force at the point of cable attachment.
These sensors are also ATEX, CSA and IECEx certifiable for use in explosive areas.
