At the request of one of its customers, SENSY has developed a tensiometer designed for underwater operation. It is part of a force acquisition system applied to mooring cables. This system can measure forces up to 450 kN, it can be submerged to a depth of 50 m and can be easily installed on a mooring cable by a diver. There is no need for disassembly or functional interruption.
This system measures the tensile force of cables used for a variety of mooring applications:
- Offshore platforms
- Ships and towing cables
- Fish farming
- Umbilical loading
- Oceanography or navigation
- Renewable marine energy platforms
With this set of applications and the ability to be deployed on virtually any type of mooring cable, these systems have many benefits:
- Do not require any disconnection from the mooring cable
- Can be calibrated for different line sizes
- Configurable data acquisition
- Can be custom built for any application
- Easy installation by divers
- Easy data recovery
